Here are the common wounds this product is typically used for:

• Infected and non-infected wounds
• Superficial wounds
• Abdominal wounds
• Full and partial thickness wounds
• Pressure ulcers

• Diabetic ulcers
• Exudative lesions
• Second-degree burns (not intended for third-degree burns)
• Donor sites
• Lacerations, abrasions, and cuts
• Venous stasis ulcers

If you're not sure how to use this product properly, talk to a health care provider. Proper use may vary depending on the nature of your wound. Here's a general guide:

Preparation:

Before applying this product, the necrotic tissue should be debrided in accordance with the protocol of a clinician or hospital. The wound site should be thoroughly irrigated with a balanced salt solution or a sterile physiological 0.9% normal saline.

Application:

For shallow wounds, the wound powder should be layered approximately 1/4" (6mm) thick on top of the complete wound site. For deep wounds, the multidex powder should fill the site of the wound to the surface, especially in any sections that are undermined.

Dressing

Following powder application, the wound site should be covered with a non-adherent dressing. Some options from DeRoyal include the Polyderm Border™, MultiPad™, Covaderm Plus®, and Sofsorb® dressings. If required, you can tape the dressing in place with DeRoyal Fluftex™ tape or stretch net elastic bandage.

WARNINGS:

• Do not use a damaged or opened package.
• Do not use if gel is dry.
• Do not use if product is expired. Product may be used up to 30 days after opening.

Again, it's very important that you only proceed with proper guidance from a health care professional.

Dressing Removal:

First, remove your non-adherent dressing very carefully. If the dressing is stuck to the wound, you will need to soak it with saline for several minutes so the fragile healing tissue is not disrupted.

Powder Removal:

The site where the multidex powder has been applied should be thoroughly flushed with a sterile, physiological irrigating solution. This removes debris without disturbing the new granulation tissue.

It may not be necessary to remove all of the wound powder to continue with wound treatment. Some powder from a previous application may still be present during the next application.
