The Hollister CalciCare™ Calcium Alginate Dressing Silver is a reinforced, sterile non-woven alginate dressing, which is composed of high calcium/sodium alginate G (guluronic acid). It is highly absorbent and its wet strength keeps it intact during use.

The dressing can be used for a broad range of microorganisms. It has a good amount of wear time and therefore, can be used on severe wounds. The calcium sodium alginate releases silver ions during interaction with wound fluid. The gel formed then creates a protective covering, which works as an effective anti-microbial agent.
