The FreeStyle Libre 2 Flash Glucose Monitoring System is a continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) device with real time alarms capability indicated for the management of diabetes in persons age 4 and older.** WARNINGS/LIMITATIONS**: The System must not be used with automated insulin dosing (AID) systems, including closed loop and insulin suspend systems. Remove the sensor before MRI, CT scan, X-ray, or diathermy treatment. Do not take high doses of vitamin C (more than 500 mg per day), as this may falsely raise your Sensor readings. Failure to use the System according to the instructions for use may result in missing a severe low blood glucose or high blood glucose event and/or making a treatment decision that may result in injury. A bit confused

The continual reading is far superior to once a day reading. But I wonder about the differences in levels. The sensor averages lower than the strips that test blood. I noticed another reviewer or two who also remarked on this.

Freestyle Libre 2

I love this system. After years of ten finger sticks/day, I can now test whenever I want without pulling out all of my equipment. I find the system to be accurate and convenient. Highly recommend.

Had bad luck with this system

Maybe it's just me, but I found the readings from the Freestyle Libre 2 so different from what I'm accustomed to with my finger sticks that I had doubts about the accuracy of the data from the patch system. Comparing finger stick readings to data from the Libre 2 system resulted in differences of 40 ml/dl and 75 ml/dl. I know that the measurements are not supposed to be the same, but I found the Libre 2 data hard to interpret. BG levels went up and down for what appeared to be no reason. Maybe I used the patch incorrectly, but that is what I found. At approx $100 per try, I didn't find this to be what I was hoping for. If you're considering buying this, you might start with just the sensors. The reader is useful, but you can use a smartphone app to get the same information from the sensors. ADW has great service and delivery was very quick once they got my physician's approval. While I was not sold on the system, I'd recommend trying it if you can afford a test. Just don't invest in the reader until you're happy with the results. Application was easy and pain free.

This has helped me to see in real time how the foods I eat affect my glucose levels. It have definitely helped me get my diet and numbers under control.

I LOVE it. It has enabled me and my doctor to reduce my insulin and take my oral medications at different times so NO MORE hypoglycemic events and my A1c is down from 8.2 to 6.8. Best in 10 years!
