American Diabetes Wholesale announced that they have become one of the major sponsors for ‘Downhill For Diabetes’ charity event. The event, held at Pico Mountain Resort, in Killington, Vermont, will take place on February 26, 2012. Beginning at 8AM, the day-long event will include skiing and snowboarding with the focus of raising money for diabetes research.
With the same theme of a charity walk or run, the skiers and snowboarders participating in the event will seek donations from family, friends, and co-workers for their efforts. One hundred percent of the proceeds pulled in by the event will go directly towards researching a cure for diabetes.
“Our team is honored to support the ‘Downhill For Diabetes’ event. The effort that they are putting in to raise awareness about Type 1 diabetes is commendable and will benefit many,” says Chris Maguire, Vice-President and co-founder. Maguire goes on to say, “Not only does ‘Downhill For Diabetes’ bring attention to finding a cure for diabetes, but it also provides for a fun way to raise funds.”
This event is being hosted by Donations for Diabetes, a non-profit organization based in Vermont. Their 2012’s event will be the second ‘Downhill For Diabetes’ run and the goal is to eclipse 2011’s donation total of $8500.00.
