Pompano Beach, Florida (PRWEB) February 12, 2015
ADW Diabetes announced that they have become a major sponsor for the ‘Downhill For Diabetes’ fundraiser charity event. The event, held at Pico Mountain Resort, in Killington, Vermont, will take place on February 21, 2015. Beginning at 8AM, the day-long event will include skiing and snowboarding with the focus of raising money for diabetes research.
With the same theme of a charity walk or run, the skiers and snowboarders participating in the event will seek donations from family, friends, and co-workers for their efforts. One hundred percent of the proceeds pulled in by the event will go directly towards researching a cure for diabetes.
‘Lynn does a great job hosting and organizing this event. ADW Diabetes is proud to be a part of it and to help bring awareness to ‘Downhill For Diabetes’, says Chris Maguire, Vice-President and co-founder of ADW Diabetes. Maguire continues, ‘the attention that ‘Downhill For Diabetes’ brings regarding diabetes education and awareness at a local level is remarkable’.
This event is being hosted by Donations for Diabetes, a non-profit organization based in Vermont. This year’s event will be the fifth ‘Downhill For Diabetes’ run and their goal is to eclipse 2014’s donation total of $19,500.
‘ADW Diabetes has been great to us. They’ve been a major sponsor of our event for years, and it is with their generous donations and those from others that we are able to continue to host events like this where all of the money raised goes towards researching a cure for diabetes’, says Lynn Pratt, co-founder of Donation for Diabetes. 5th Annual Downhill for Diabetes Ski and Snowboard Event

About Donations for Diabetes
Lynn and Bradley Pratt started Donations for Diabetes after their nine year old daughter, Ashley, was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in October of 2010: “We started this non-profit organization to help spread awareness that a cure for diabetes is within reach. We hope to make a difference by raising funds to help support diabetes research and ultimately find a cure for this disease. This will allow our daughter, and all the others out there like her, to lead normal lives.” For more information on Donations for Diabetes visit http://www.donationsfordiabetes.org.
